The law allows photographers to take photos of people in public places where there can be no reasonable expectation of privacy, and all editorial photographs can be freely published, printed in magazines and newspapers, or televised without the knowledge or consent of the subjects.

I have a different policy. Let's face it, I know what I look and feel like after a few days on the trail, and there are times when I'm not happy to have a camera in my face. So if we are out on a trail run (or any other public place/event) and for any reason you would prefer not to be included in my photos, please let me know and I'll be happy to accommodate your request. If you are visiting my site to view photos from one of our trail runs and you find a photo(s) of yourself that you do not want made public, you can contact me via the e-mail link below (and at the bottom of every page) and I will immediately remove your photo(s) from this website. I am also happy to remove license plate identification at your request.

At no time will I print, publish, make available or sell your name (trailnames may be used for identification purposes to caption photos unless you request removal), email address or any other personally identifiable information without your prior written consent. In the event an image is deemed newsworthy and considered for publication, I will attempt to contact you to gain your written permission in the form of a model release. If I cannot contact you or you do not wish to give permission, the image will not be used.

Although this is primarily applicable to trail run photos, my policy holds for all photos made available through this website.

Smugmug provides my website hosting and printing services. When you purchase a print or product from my site the transaction is handled by Smugmug. The only personal information I will receive about you is your name, address and the email address you submit. Your credit card information is retained by Smugmug and I will never have access to that information, and I will never send you an unsolicited email.
